Lackey Cottage

I once had an architect from Philadelphia pay me a complement. Terry Steelman hired our office to help him with the design of his beach house. Terry, who is an expert in commercial construction, wanted to work with an office that was an expert in coastal residential construction. This time it was one of Wilmington’s premier builders who paid us a compliment. Kyle Lackey of Lackey Builders hired our office to help him design a new home for his family. One row back from the water, the Lackey’s cottage is an upside down house with the master bedroom, kitchen and living rooms on the top floor. Not only does this provide great views for the living area but creates an “outside” room on the ground level.
